Inductive sensors only detect metal parts. They are thus insensitive to dirt. Contrinex inductive sensors are particularly suited to tough environmental conditions.
Photoelectric sensors work with light, which results in long operating distances. They detect conducting and non-conducting materials, and are best suited for adaption to specific applications.
Ultrasonic sensors may be used wherever distances have to be measured in air. They detect transparent as well as colored targets in the solid, liquid, granular or powder state.
Capacitive sensors are suitable for applications where non-conducting, transparent objects have to be detected, or where a clear difference in dielectric properties exclusively distainguishes the target from its background.
RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) allows objects to be identified by means of electronic labels (transponders or tags). Contrinex all-metal RFID systems are particularly suitable for tough environmental conditions.
Safety light curtains are used wherever risks cannot be eliminated through machine design. A person or any part of the body entering a danger zone is detected by the light curtain, leading to immediate machine stoppage.
